The institute was formally registered on 16 April 2025 with registration number PPM-026-10-16042025. Established in accordance with the Societies Act 1966 of Malaysia and officially registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (JPPM/ROS), it is a nationwide non-profit academic research institution and professional cultural tourism strategic think tank in Malaysia.
It is dedicated to building a professional, international platform for cultural tourism research and collaborative cooperation, boosting innovation and high-quality development of Malaysia’s cultural tourism industry, deepening cultural tourism exchanges and cooperation between China and Malaysia, and advancing coordinated development of cultural tourism industries across ASEAN.
Adhering to the regional positioning of "Based in Malaysia, Deepening China-Malaysia Cooperation, Serving ASEAN Development", the institute focuses on four major sectors: industrial research, cultural communication, international exchange and industry-university-research collaboration. It facilitates effective connection and value transformation of cultural, tourism, academic and industrial resources.
